RECORDING AND EXPORTING WITH CAMTASIA STUDIO 8 FOR Qbrick OVP
Always capture in a frame dimension that is in the aspect of 16:9, that is 1280x720, 1920x1080 etc. This way you will avoid stretching the video or black bars when the finished clip is uploaded to the OVP:
Computer screens are rarely in the aspect of 16:9, so this might mean recording only a selected area of the screen automatically marked by the dotted green line.
Click ‘Tools’‐ ‘Options’ to change the recording settings:
Change 'Screen capture frame rate' to 25 fps. Please note that screen capture softwares are rarely frame accurate which leads to uneven motion. For accurate frame rate recordings, external recording hardware is recommended.
Under 'Inputs', choose the audio device to use for voice recording:
Click the 'rec' button to start recording:
After finished recording, the file is ready for post‐production, make sure to choose the 16:9 frame dimension, like the ‘1280x720 Recording Dimension’:
The finished project is exported using 'Produce and share':
For a quick export profile choose ‘MP4 only (up to 720p)’
For a higher quality profile optimized for transcoding choose ‘Custom production settings’ and follow the steps below:
Choose ‘MOV ‐ QuickTime movie’:
Click the 'QuickTime options' and choose 'Settings':
Make sure the ‘Export Size Settings’ are set to same frame dimension as the canvas, in this case 1280x720.
Click OK and export.
