Generate a stream URL
To generate a stream URL for BroadcastMe you have to combine the stream URL found under account settings on the QVP (Qbrick Video Platform) together with a Stream Key on the corresponding channel.
Simply add the the Stream Key to the ending of stream URL found under settings with a / in between.
Example of correct streamURL: “stream URL”/”stream Key”
Setup
Go to Media Library on QVP and create a new Live Broadcast for the intended channel.
Opening the application for the first time may or may not ask you for permission to allow the application to use your devices microphone, camera and access storage.
These will need to be allowed for app to run properly.
On the BroadcastMe app open up the settings menu and fill in the following information:
-
Resolution Portrait and Landscape - Should be set to either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 as these are commonly supported video resolutions and have the correct aspect ratio.
-
Framerate (Apple only) - 30
-
Keyframe Interval (Apple only) - 60
-
Bitrate - Depending on network connection you can try to use a higher bitrate for better video quality. Lower will result in a bit “chunkier” image quality but will not require a faster connection.
A bitrate of 4000 should result in a nice crisp image for a 1920x1080 without distorting artifacts.
-
Save Video Locally - Will be more demanding from a hardware standpoint for your device.
-
Server URL - You use the URL previously generated here. This also acts as authentication.
Go Live
To start streaming simply press the Record button (press it again to stop).
To go live with the stream navigate to the previously created Live Broadcast and open the Live Manager. When the stream is showing you are free to go live!
